Redm - Loadingscreen
Configurable loading screen for RedM. Everything shown on it is set in one file, so you never have to open the code: server name, background, music, rules, news, links, colors, texts and timings. No framework, no database, no library. One line in your server.cfg. What you can set Background. A slideshow of your own pictures with cross fade and slow zoom, a video file you ship with the resource, a YouTube video, or a plain color. Three pictures are included so the screen looks right before you touch anything. Music. Your own playlist, in order or shuffled, with a player the connecting player can use: play, pause, skip, volume, mute. Volume and mute are remembered between connections. The player can also be hidden if you would rather they did not touch it. No track is included, you add your own. Panels. Three of them, each one shown or hidden on its own: house rules, latest news, and where to find you. They sit on the right or on the left. Tips. Your own list, one at a time, in order or shuffled, with the delay you choose. Progress bar. With the text of your choice at each stage, and the percentage next to it. Theme. Accent color, paper color, text color, panel opacity, how dark the background gets, old film grain and vignette. Three fonts are shipped with the resource, so nothing is downloaded from a font service while your players wait. Timings. A minimum display time, so the screen does not blink away on a fast machine and everyone has time to read your rules, and a fade out. Texts. Every word on the screen comes from the config file, down to the four button labels of the music player. Write them in your language, there is no locale file to keep in sync. Three things worth knowing before you install The game reports its real loading progress on some builds and stays silent on others. The bar handles both: it follows the real progress when it comes, and falls back to a time based estimate otherwise. The estimate stops short of the end and only reaches 100 when the game is actually ready, so it never claims a connection is finished while it is not. You can force either behaviour. Social addresses are shown as text, not as buttons. A loading screen cannot open a browser, that is a limit of the game and not of this resource. A click copies the address so the player can paste it. The interface is a web page, and the Cfx asset escrow only encrypts Lua. The interface is therefore shipped readable, which means you can go further than the config file and rework the theme yourself if you want to. Installation 1. Copy the folder into your resources. 2. Add ensure cm-loadingscreen to your server.cfg. 3. Remove or comment out any other loading screen. Only one can run at a time. 4. Edit config/config.js, drop your pictures in config/media/backgrounds/ and your music in config/media/music/. The README covers updating, every setting and the common questions
